Chemical exhaust air purification processes
In chemical absorption, an ion, atom or molecule is absorbed into the free volume of the absorbing phase. The process of gas scrubbing is used, among other things, to clean industrial waste gases or to eliminate odours. Water is used as an absorbent, and specific chemicals are added depending on the pollutant (chemisorption). In most cases, a very high cleaning performance is achieved.
In order to achieve the required cleaning performance at low operating costs, ABIONIK designs and manufactures different applications of customer specific scrubber types of different designs, e.g. counterflow scrubber, crossflow scrubber and co-current scrubber.
Besides scrubbers, ABIONIK also manufactures activated carbon filters for the adsorption of air pollutants. Activated carbon is fine-grained carbon with a highly porous structure and a very large surface. By adsorption to the inner surface of the activated carbon, pollutants or odorous substances are removed from gases, vapors and liquids: hydrogen sulfide, indole and skatole, methyl mercaptans, methylamines, ammonia, VOC, etc.
Biological exhaust air purification processes
In ABIONIK-Biofilters pollutants and odorous substances from exhaust air and exhaust gas streams are decomposed to non-toxic, odorless and largely low-molecular substances, such as carbon dioxide and water. This is biochemically processed through the metabolic activity of microorganisms. For this purpose, the pollutant to be separated is first brought into solution and then microbiologically degraded.
It must be ensured that the metabolism of the microorganisms used can run at an optimal level. For this purpose, it is often useful to add other substances, such as phosphorus or trace elements. As a specialist in dosing technology, ABIONIK will assist you in all aspects of your project.
