The paper factory at Tegernsee is located in the Mangfall Valley, a landscape protection area from which a large part of the drinking water of the greater Munich area is supplied. In order to avoid waste water and to reuse water, the circuit water and waste water purification plant was established. The 1.2 million Euro project was carried out together with the German Federal Environment Foundation.

A combination of pressure disk filters for removing solids from the water, equipped with ABIONIK systems, and ozone treatment of the waste water resulted in a reduction of 52% of the specific waste water volume. The amount of waste water from production could be reduced to an average of 29 l / kg (based on the amount of paper produced) to 13.9 l / kg. The annual paper production of the paper mill is approximately 4400 tons.
